Each day brings some horrible news
In some corner of our globe
Of people being sick and dead
From a virus that is cold

Death by a virus, headlines scream
As a homeless takes his last breath
Frozen to bones, under the sky
He was waiting for the sun

Few blocks ahead a young man died
From loneliness and a lack of words
And for as long as he was, breathing still
He was waiting for a knock on his door

People die from hurtful words
Few more die from the insults hurled
Many more die in war and peace
But worst is to die from neglect.
