There is a great human tragedy created by the COVID pandemic in India. The loss of jobs due to the harsh lockdown has lead to migration of people from their work place towards their homes and in most cases on foot, some travelling even 1000 kms. 

As one wonders loudly
In their warm cocoons
The broken calmly
Gather their pieces

And begin the journey
Of thousand miles
Carrying their life
On their shoulders

They feel no fear
At their loss
Nor dejection any
At their plight

Hungry and tired
And left alone
They run from hunger
Towards pain

In their own land 
On roads they built
They walk unseen
They walk uncared
