Evening comes

With silent feet

Daylight melts

Into shadows fleet

As they go

On and on

Creeping forward

Sensing fear

Leaves droop down

Birds start hiding

In the trees

Windows closed

Curtains drawn

Houses too

Hide from streets

Stars too twinkle

And tremble in cold

Moon in a hurry

Crosses the sky

As shadows crawl

Into the dark

Rising chill

In the air

Warns of a shivering

Night ahead
