Summer Evening

The evening sky

Little bright in the west

Golden red

Streaks flaring out

Through gaps in cloud

Dull blue and grey

Trees standing still

Every branch and leaf

Few going straight

In the dusky sky

Genteel giants

Feeling the clouds

A leafless tree

Looks on fire

Shows some life

In a fiery bloom

Few tall greens

Soothe the eyes

As sky gets crowded

With flock of birds

Returning for the night
