Corner Alive

Maroon pots lined up the wall

Sprouting branches mossy stumps

Forks and tridents surging ahead

To merge in leaves fresh and green

Cascading grace jasmine and vines

Stars on riot on the green

Pink and red yellow and white

Roses exploding randomly

Asters begonias peonies wave

From their beds carelessly laid

Smell of soil soft and wet

Blends in a fragrance

Oh so faint

All of this is always there

In one corner of my mind

Kept untouched alive untamed

Retreat for those terrible times

That keep coming

In regular streams
