These lines have to be understood from the context of the harsh and long Indian summer, where the temperature can reach 41 centigrade during day times. One just keeps waiting for some pre-monsoon showers to cool things down a bit

Summer Dreams
It’s a windy evening
On a hot summer day
Dead leaves are floating
Yanked from their place
As the sun goes down
Hidden in the clouds
Just a few rain drops
Fall on my face
Hoping for a downpour
I realise a bit late
Winds that brought the clouds
Are now taking them away
