Unrequited
Feelings wild, fountain of thoughts
Sprung in an instant, day you walked
Into my monochrome, field of view
Watched your every, move and breath
Saw you straighten, up your dress
Brush those errant, strands of hair
Venturing across your face
Those agonising waits, for a glimpse
Words of nonsense, shared with you
Your laugh in response, would lit up a fuse
Of fireworks in my brain
You might have, never realised
Or had an inkling or a complete sense
Yet shunned them and pulled away
From my feelings growing deep
Though it hurts the crushing of dreams
Pain won’t linger, heartache will be gone
For pleasure of loving, had all been mine
Those tender feelings will last
