My Garden

Trees rise high, far above

To end in a canopy, to block the sky

Scattered rays, peer through it

To have a look, at my backyard

Shrubs and bushes, laden with leaves

Dark green to brown

Even red and pink

End in flowers, tiny to huge

In different shades and hues

Mix of fragrance

Floats in the air

Of flowers and leaves

And the moist earth

But there’s no butterfly

To pamper my blooms

Taste it’s sweet

Feel it’s scent

Add to the colours

Missing in the scene

That’s my sole regret
