These lines have been written in response to a prompt on https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/2022/11/28/what-do-you-see-162-november-28-2022/
The prompt was to write whatever came to mind about the image given below

You have been warned
You have been warned
Whispered a little voice
Brushing it aside, I nodded my head
Assuring myself proud and vain
That there’s no reason to be alarmed
You have been warned
It spoke a bit loud
With irritation told it to shut its mouth
I know my people since a long time
Don’t fill my mind with your bizarre doubts
You have been warned
It almost shouted at me
But by then things were plain and clear
Had lost those who I considered dear
Leaving a hole in my heart
You had been warned
It choked and cried
That little voice that had, been my guide
I wiped its tears, and cried in despair
For my broken and dead life
