New Year(2023)

As the clock hands come together

Once again at midnight

A new date begins, on the calendar

Hanging on walls, in mobile apps

A new sunrise waits to be seen

Arriving with the morning

May herald something new

Or be just, a cyclical repetition

Of the same everyday affair

What it may gets us, lead us to

Nobody knows

Yet we celebrate

End of one and beginning of new

Orbit around the sun

From a randomly assigned spot

Dancing with friends or tucked early into bed

Or pondering alone over life

Over a few glasses

Consoling oneself

That may be, things will

Somehow change
