Alcove

Alcove

Amidst a thicket

A silent breeze

Found ways to squeeze

Through densely packed leaves

Reaching a space

That radiated peace

It almost comes to a standstill

Such was the charm

Of that hidden alcove

That seems to have eluded

Discovery for long

In that green parlor

Where nature showcased it’s rare

And a rustic charm

There beneath a thick low branch

A dusty bench caught my glance

Sheltered under a roof

Green and alive

Vines creating a tapestry

On the living green walls

For moments

Don’t know how long

I too froze

Becoming a part of the scene

That moved something inside

And awakened that need

I felt had died

As I ran through marathon of life

With people pushing me ahead

The end is near they cheered and said

Though the end

Never seemed to arrive

That need to be far away

From the evocative dreams

Of a chequered flag waving at me

And sit in silence

To completely take in

Whatever the alcove

Had to provide
