Arches on the Wall

Arches on walls, elegant in style

Beige and dark, speckled and white

Seen in corridors, only at night

On walls that were plain and

Completely bare

Is it shadows, playing with eyes

Should I touch, trace outline

Or let the illusion play itself

For there’s no reason

Compelling to attest

If the world is real

Or matrix of conceit
