Crumbling Walls

Crumbling Walls

Cocooned inside our selfish worlds

Decadence has led us astray

Changing winds carrying weeds

Found place in throes of decay

Deep inside everyone knows

Though they may not agree

Bricks and stones, set in lime

Have started showing chinks

Can’t blame the sun or the rains

Or those infamous westerlies

Loosening sand and widening cracks

Wild roots been digging deep

It may fall, in one fell swoop

Or crumble silently

Any which way, when walls walk away

Roof loses its meaning
