Death by Snafu

Death Series 1

Death by Snafu

Say something

If not a sentence

At least a few words

Don’t just nod your head

Both ways

Postponing things

It could be a yea or a nay

Though

That would be something

Mean a lot

Clear the sky

When you say it

Give me a thread

If not a rope

To save myself

From drowning

In the depths of despair

Where questions after question

Keep rising

Over my head

Seeking to drown

Suffocate me

To death

  1. It’s important to discuss and clear the air of misunderstanding or normal conversation. Good communication is important. Hope rightly interpreted the poem.

    • Yes.

But this poem is not about me. As a doctor I get to meet a lot of people with their unique set of problems.

This poem is about one such situation someone was in.

Another thing is that, such issues are difficult to deal with. Communication is the key. But it has to be a 2 way honest communication. Sometimes the honesty itself complicates the issue at hand. And hiding complicates it even more.

There are no straightforward answers nor any set protocols to handle these situation. Each situation is unique with its own unique way of diffusing it.

Each one has to go by their gut instincts and common sense. And talking about common sense, it abandons the person, exactly in such times.

      😄
