Death Of A River

The river in this poem is a metaphor for way life, love, life itself, …….

Death of a River

River’s gone dry, there are no streams

Tethering it

To mountains and dreams

Of clouds full of rains

It rains

Once in a while

River rolls on it’s side

To look back

At water gushing down

Nothing arrives

With a wicked smile

Sun ratchets up heat

Hot pebbles and stones

Burn through the bed

Scarring roots

Struggling to remain

Alive
