Elusive
Any moment of the day
There’s no sleep at the end of day
Laying down in the bed doesn’t help
Nor a warm bath
Elusiveness has become a buzzword
In my repertoire
Doesn’t help
Sounds of ticking clock and my breath
Gets louder
With every passing moment
The last recourse is scenarios
Imagining them over and over again
With few changes here and there
And yet it doesn’t arrive
As it has unfailingly done
Every night
Though not so soon
And I ready myself for another rerun
Though with a bit of changes
Of a mindless scenario

Shashi, I really feel the ache in “Elusiveness has become a buzzword / In my repertoire.” It captures the frustration of insomnia.
Much love,
David
Thanks a lot David. Is insomnia that comes with age as well as due to the happenings around where one is unable to do anything apart from watching it helplessly.
