Fear

Even on our best days
Waiting to pounce at the slightest chance
Onto our chest
Some say fear is irrational
Some say fear saves lives
Some say it’s an evolutionary response
Tuned to misfire
This might be the closest
It can be described
Explains why we try to escape
A woman beaten to death by one or two guys
Possibly known to her
Man lynched by an unknown crowd
Someone being stabbed or shot at
Or coming under the wheels
And we smoothly escape
Providing help
For we don’t fear death
Unless it’s our own
Inconvenience is what we fear
In our routine
Spot on Shashi. Fear saves lives but can also the biggest impediment
Yes and no one is immune from it. I am also not
No one is immune to it as it’s an instinct.
