Insanity
A lazy Sunday afternoon
That promises a lot and keeps none
Comes after a staccato morning
Of reluctant rush
Where I start and stop
To start and stop again
Spells of lazing
Alternate with doing a lot more
Of the same rotten routine
I would have gladly got rid off
If I hadn’t abandoned my insanity
And that sharp knife in my brain
Jiggles in its place
And the searing pain that follows
Reminds me
That I put in there myself
When I became a chimp in a cage
That craves for rewards
In exchange of tasks
That keep coming at steady intervals
