Reverse Waterfall

Undulating green expanse

Bright with freshly bloomed leaves

Of tiny grass and seasonal herbs

Interspersed with trails

Tiny pools and slushes

In mocha shades

A broken border of shrubs

Of deeper green

Thick with leaves new and old

Tried in vain

To stop the dominance of grassy plains

Here and there bunches of bamboo

With slender green stems

Strived to belong

In the thick foliage

Streams snaked their way

Through grass

Cascading down exposed rocks

In a sublime symphony

Of rapturous joy

Uplifting and hypnotic at the same time

Few lonely trees stood out

Their thorny trunks and branches

Bereft of leaves

A sage amidst abundance

Of water and green

Overhead a bright

Yet a soothing blue sky

Stood snobbishly far

From everything below it had enveloped

Layers of clouds floated

Higher ones lazily

Lower ones hurried across

Swallowing hills tops in their path

A lonely mountain stood tall

Head covered in clouds

Wearing thin robes of a fleeting fog

A wide stream snaked around it

Towards a sheer cliff

Half a mile deep

To rise again in strong winds

A spray that falls back
