Sage

Sage

It’s difficult to find company

In the darkness

Night lamp doesn’t qualify

Nor do walls and ceiling

And searching inside oneself

That one piece of meat and bones

That one owns

And they inevitably realise

One who seeks company can’t provide it

To their own self

An untethered leaf floating in a stream

Eventually finds something or someone

To hold on to

Though a few are doomed

Emotions dammed behind thick walls

Without any release

That’s a burden they carry

Of thoughts spinning in a loop without end

That’s the halo around their head

And those watching say

That person definitely is a Sage
