As evening old Tired and cold Staggers slowly Into the night The sun does hang A trifle long Unhappy to cede Its higher ground To the sluggish night Waiting around
As darkness spreads Slowly around Shadows rise Without a sound Something stirs And stares at you From corners evaded All our life.
In horror as you shift your gaze More of them rise To stare at you As you hide Your face in fear Their whispers start Getting loud.
And as the light Is going out On the lonely evening Of your life Though buried alive. In recesses deep Your follies and failures Seek you out.
