Unravelling

Death Series 2

Another one in the series that tries to explore death

Unravelling

Can hear bird’s chirping

Singing songs of gratitude

To night gone by

For keeping them alive

And the sun

For dispelling fear of hunters

That prowl at night

Can feel a faint heat

Slanting rays of rising sun

May have touched me somewhere

The dead can’t see anything

While they patiently wait

For death to collect their soul

That has been stitched together

By life

Threads of emotions feelings experience

And memories

Weaved side by side and across

Into a prismatic fabric

Without seams or stitches

And death loves it

Much more than the dead

Lying face down in the mud

Immobile

Don’t know what had struck me down

Or who and for what

I just wait

For deaths footsteps

That are amplified by loss of other senses

One by one

As blood stops moving in veins

Maybe that’s why hearing stays

For some more time

To hear it’s last one sound

Sound of soul peeled off

It’s threads unravelling

One thread at a time

Till there’s nothing left
