What you can do to me

I needn’t tell myself
Much less convey it to you
What you already know
Or perhaps not
And even if you don’t know
It won’t matter
It’s moments that matter
Two hearts beating in sync
Two minds coiling and uncoiling
In a surreal tango
Entwined delicately
That does matter
We may not meet in person
As frequently as I want
Though by now
It doesn’t matter

As long as we meet sometimes
Rather than not
And fleetingly
Rather than never at all
In moments between
Two heartbeats
That seem to stall
In breaths held for long
Some expelled with an exclamation mark
In moments when our bodies are still
And the floor moves in tandem
With the revolving walls

And in my solitude
I relive them
Every breath, every heartbeat
Each graceful step
We danced
You could join in sometimes
In the recall
Or if not for anything
Perhaps to see
And realise
What you can do
To me
