White Lines

White Lines

White lines keep, running back

Along the tar road, greyish and black

Blinking in beat, with broken lines

Hypnotic rhythm, that calms me down

Bus kept whizzing, furiously past

The passing hills and scattered grass

Dreams kept following, far from above

White clouds flying, in deep blue sky

They too somehow, keep falling back

New ones arrive, that catch my eye

Once in a while, bus does slow down

At signposts and bright yellow lights

Mere a passenger, realise late, I am

Can’t even decide, how and where to go

Tired of thinking, I rest my head

Wish life was simple, just a long black road
