This is a poem written for a dear friend who is in his fifties. The occasion for the poem was his birthday.

Flying along on the
Wings of desires
Reached so far
Unhurt unexpired

Passed your youth
Towards old age
You stand confused
Nor here nor there

Stop for a moment
Catch your breath
Feel the pain
And wipe your sweat

Slow down and savour
And feel the flavour
Of the beautiful things
Life has to offer

There’s things to do
And burdens to bear
Start living and loving
And please, let down your hair

Love your self
And live your life
The way you dreamt
As a young child
