Rail Tracks

Was walking along train tracks

That ran straight through

The ballast spread over

Kept poking through shoes

Every now and then

Springing through the rails

Green shoots appeared

Amidst, hundreds dry and dead

Buildings on either side, damaged in ruins

Shacks and huts were, still smouldering

No human in sight

Where have they gone

Till yesterday were fighting

From their side of tracks

Abuses stones, hatchets and shovels

Even fire balls flew, in the rabid air

It all seems peaceful, too silent now

Yet haunting to look

When everyone is gone

Amidst the ruins, rubble and quiet

The track still shines

Dividing both sides
