Withered Away

She filled his plate

He pushed it away

Food splattering on table

And everywhere

She watched unmoved

Wiped the drool

Off his face, robotically

He pushed her back

She stumbled

Yet in moments balanced herself

Was used to life

Throwing her around

Since the day she had, married him

He picked his glass and gulped it down

Poison to keep, the devil alive

While the man he was some time back

Had completely withered away
