Blanket of Darkness

Blanket of Darkness

Nights keep on changing

Darkness remains the same

One tosses and turn in their bed

It never moves nor exposes them

The blanket of darkness

Keeps them tucked in always

There are no dreams nor light

Even when they shut their eyes

There’s just more darkness

Till the morning light

And then

Hatred cruelty and illusions

Of the Loving, the Kind

And the Informed

Falsities of the True

And preachings of those

Who never take a stand

Reveal the darkness that hides

Under the cloak of light

      • Yes there are positives. But the negatives are rising. People are getting polarised very easily. Believe in rumours and fake news instantly. Are ever ready to take a stand against anything they don’t even understand. Just for the heck of it.

      • I think most of it stems out of frustration. People are hard up and life is tough. They are ready to blame others for everything

      • Yes and no. Yes the day to day difficulties are affecting us.

        But there are other factors:
        1. Technology overall in all fields is becoming complex. Previously one could do minor repair of every household equipment and even vehicles on their own. Nowadays due to complex technology it’s just not possible. So Pele don’t understand technology and a few who can, try to fool them. Here the politicians come in. Who manipulate people into believing issues and fakery so that politicians can win elections.
        2. Second thing is if someone can’t understand the technology especially something like social media and internet then they are bound to fooled by sites peddling fake news.
        3. All this leads to confusion in their minds and then they stop believing in anything. Even good advice, opinions and the exact facts. That leads to conspiracy theories. We have had our share of that during covid.

      • There is no solution. At least as far as I can see. Not that I am a great visionary or even a visionary at that.

Humanity will have to ride it out with a lot of collateral damage.

      • That’s unfortunate. But perhaps you’re right. Unless it comes from deep inside from our heart- the desire to change ourselves, there won’t be a change.
