Life Sometimes Even All The Time
It was dark and cold
Don’t know if it was fear
Or just a chill in the unknown air
Heart pounding, palms wet with sweat
Feet trying hard to stay planted
On slippery wooden steps
I held on dearly to the ladder ropes
Peering in dark till eyes bled
For a tiny space where I could rest
Till the night of terror lasts
Swinging viciously against the rock
Knuckles scraped till skin was lost
Couldn’t see it, felt a searing pain
Bare to the bones, my knuckles bled
Palms lost skin, toes their nails
Was at a loss
How and why I was there
Yet I hung on tightly with all my strength
Afraid of falling down

This is a beautiful poem.
I hope you are okay
Thank a lot. I admire it’s dark and talks about despair and helplessness.
Been there many times and returned back. As like most of the people.
Thanks for your concern. I am quite good. Just wrote these lines, from memory of some days which cannot be forgotten.
Correction in the above comment.
*Admit instead of admire.
This evokes a lot of emotions Shashi. Very well written
